Following his “nightmare” experience with the difficult development of the upcoming Scream movie and his subsequent exit from the project, it would appear that Christopher Landon, the director of Happy Death Day and Freaky, has found a far less stressful next position. He is back with the Blumhouse family for a new thriller called Drop, which stars Meghann Fahy, who was a breakout performer in the second season of The White Lotus.
It is safe to assume that no one will be overly surprised to find that Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach are the ones responsible for writing the script for this particular project, which is being kept quiet on the plot front. According to Deadline, however, it is described as “a fast-paced thriller.” In light of the title, what are some possible hypotheses? It’s… Is there a single drop of poison involved? Alternatively, it is probably more likely that it will involve the possibility of falling from a large height. (Probably with a lower number of bizarre interactions with vultures).
In this particular instance, Blumhouse and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes team will collaborate on the development of the film, and Universal will be in charge of distribution. As for Fahy, she will next be seen in the Netflix series The Perfect Couple, which also stars Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber with whom she will appear.
